Kidnappings

Solo or crew

A rich kid is out for a stroll with his bodyguard. Hold him up, stuff him in a trunk and drive him to the meeting point. Drive gently: damaged goods are worth less.

The plan#

  1. Take the jobContracts app on your phone, Jobs section. The client tells you the neighborhood: the search area follows the target as he wanders around. Once you get close, he's marked on your map.
  2. Hold him upGun in hand, pointed at him for 3.5 s, within 12 m: his hands go up. His bodyguard opens fire the moment his boss gives in. Kill the target and the job's blown.
  3. Into the trunkPark within 6 m of him, a real car with a trunk (no bikes or motorcycles), and press [E] next to him. Your whole crew gets ★★★, witnesses or not.
  4. Deliver himThe meeting point comes by text, at least 1.2 km away. Car stopped on the spot: the ransom is paid in cash, split between the driver and their crew within 150 m.

You can drop the job from the app as long as he's not in a trunk. After that, he belongs to whoever delivers him.

The hostage is worth something#

  • Every hit the car takes lowers the ransom, step by step, by up to 50%.
  • Car burns or sinks: hostage dead, no ransom.
  • Need to switch cars? On foot, [E] at the back, car stopped, to take him out of the trunk. He comes out with his hands up.
  • The delivery clock starts at the first trunk. Switching cars doesn't reset it.

Whoever delivers the car gets the ransom. Lose the car and you lose the ransom: the thief learns the meeting point as soon as they get in. And once he's out of the trunk, the hostage belongs to whoever holds him up: anyone can take him from you.

Cleanfull ransom

  • Hold-up first, guard second: hands up, the target stays put.
  • A solid sedan, quiet roads.
  • A crewmate riding escort to block pursuers.

Messydamaged ransom

  • Shooting before the hold-up: the target bolts.
  • Losing the cops at full speed.
  • Every fender-bender gets paid for at the meeting point.
Classified

A target who bolts isn't lost: . Hands up, he waits quietly as long as someone stays within ; left alone for , he runs. Car without a driver: he starts banging on the trunk after and breaks out at .

Take a solid sedan, not a sports car. Potholes are expensive.
