File 05 · Bottom Dollar bail office

Bounty hunter

Solo or crew

Fugitives have skipped bail. You take a file off the board, track them down, cuff them and bring them in. Nothing to do with bounties between players: here the target is an NPC, and whoever delivers first gets paid.

The hunt#

  1. Stop by the bail office5 doors on the map, one office behind them. [E] at the bounty board: 6 files, with the photo, the record, the bounty and where the fugitive was last seen. Hold the button to take a file.
  2. Find themA 120 m area shows up on your map. It shifts when they move. Up close, their head shows on the map.
  3. Make them give upKeep them at gunpoint for 3 s, 15 m away at most: hands up. Or put them down: one taser shot, or 3 punches (or melee hits).
  4. Cuff them[E] next to them. They follow you on foot. The 15 min clock starts.
  5. Sit them in the back[E] near a car with a back seat (no bikes, no two-seaters).
  6. DeliverTo a bail office or the nearest police station, car stopped on the spot. At a police station, only with no stars. You can also deliver on foot, cuffed next to you.

The bounty is paid in cash, split with your crew within 150 m. Everyone then waits 5 min before the next file.

Alive only, or dead or alive#

Every file carries a note.

Alive onlyfull bounty

  • The office wants them alive.
  • Dead, the file is cancelled for everyone.
  • The killer gets ★★.

Dead or alive45% dead

  • The most dangerous ones.
  • Alive: full bounty.
  • Dead: park a car next to the body, [E] to load it into the trunk, and deliver it.

2$16,000 – $28,000
3$30,000 – $45,000

They won't come quietly#

14 fugitives on file, each with their own habits. Read the record before you go:

  • on foot, they bolt as soon as they see a drawn weapon within 22 m;
  • by car, they floor it. While they're moving, holding them up does nothing;
  • armed, wearing a vest, or surrounded by accomplices who shoot;
  • low-key: no head on the map until 20 m, you have to spot them in the crowd;
  • some give up the moment you draw on them.

Files are public#

Several hunters can take the same file, and the board shows how many of you are on it. Whoever delivers first gets paid. When someone cuffs the fugitive, the other hunters on the file are told, and they then see the fugitive on their map until delivery.

And they won't wait for you:

  • left with hands up and nobody around, they end up slipping away;
  • escort too far (30 m) or dead: after 20 s, they run off, still cuffed. Anyone can catch them with [E];
  • car left empty: they get restless after 45 s and bolt after 90 s;
  • car destroyed: if they're alive, they run. With a body in the trunk, the file is lost.

A file nobody catches eventually expires: the fugitive has left the state. You can also drop the trail from the Contracts app on your phone, which also routes you to the nearest office.

Your rank#

Every fugitive delivered counts as a capture, for every crew member who gets a cut.
