Passive income

A district takes a crew to grab, a crew to hold, and it pays by itself while your gang is online. Right up until another gang comes knocking.

Taking a district#

  1. Have a gangA player with no gang takes nothing. You need at least 2 in game: online members or hired muscle.
  2. Step into the zoneEvery district has a point to hold, coloured on the map. Your gang walks in, the takeover starts.
  3. Hold for 3 minWith nobody else inside the zone, rival gang or random passer-by. The gang in charge gets a text: they're coming.
  4. Keep itThe district is yours from one session to the next, safe for 30 min right after you take it.

As soon as a player who isn't in your squad sets foot in the zone, the takeover is contested: the clock freezes. If all your attackers step out and defenders stay, the takeover goes backwards. Downed or dead players count for nobody, and every death in the zone is announced to both sides. If no attacker is left in the zone for 60 s, the takeover fails, and that gang can't try the same district again for 10 min.

A district whose owners are all offline falls 2 times slower. Lost it while you were asleep? A text is waiting on your phone.

What it pays#

Every 10 min, each district pays its racket in cash, split between the gang members who are online. Nobody online, nobody paid. Hired muscle gets no cut of it.

Grip: every payout you collect adds 10% to that district's racket, up to +50%. Lose the district and the grip drops back to zero.

How you lose them#

  • Another gang takes it.
  • Your gang is disbanded.
  • No member has logged in for 3 days: all your districts go free.

Perks of the turf#

  • 10% off in the district's shops: gun store, convenience store, clothes, barber, tattoo parlor, as long as they're inside the zone. The slashed price shows before you buy.
  • Tags: a gang with more tags in a district than the gang holding it contests it, and its takeover goes 15% faster. The Turf app flags it.
  • On the map, each district takes the color of the gang holding it.
  • The ranking: every minute held with a member online earns the gang points, and some gang contracts ask you to hold several districts for hours.

The Turf app on your phone shows who holds what.
