Sign your turf

Draw your tag, throw it up on a wall, and the whole city watches it get painted. Your gang marks its turf, others buff it out, the paint fades. And the cops don't like it.

Throwing up a tag#

  1. Buy a canAt a convenience store, 3 on you at most. It goes in your inventory and does 3 tags.
  2. DrawUse the can from your inventory (or /tag, which you can bind to a key in the game settings): the blackbook opens. Ready-made lettering, freehand, layers, stencils, chrome paint, neon paint that pops at night.
  3. Aim at a wallOn foot, facing a wall, up close. E to tag, Backspace or right click to cancel.
  4. Spray6 s of spraying. Players within 120 m watch your tag get painted stroke by stroke.

No chaining: your can rests 20 s between two tags. And a spot that's too busy (6 tags within 25 m) won't take one more: go over one or move on.

Time passing#

A tag fades over 7 days and wipes itself after 14. In front of yours or your gang's, E touches it up like new in 3 s, for one charge of paint.

Buff or go over a gang's tag and the whole gang gets a text with your name. The author of a tag with no gang gets warned too.

A nasty one (insults, hate, ads...)? H in front of it to report it to staff.

With your gang#

Every tag from a member carries your gang's name. The boss saves the official tag from his blackbook. The can in the gang's color is picked by default, and each tag is signed with the gang's emblem in a corner.

In a district, a gang with more fresh tags than the gang in charge contests it: their takeover goes 15% faster.

Murals: a big grid (2x2 or 4x2 tiles) on a clear wall, where each member paints a tile with his own can. The blackbook offers your gang's mural when you're next to it. 4 murals per gang (or per player with no gang), 2 per district. Tiles don't count toward your per-district limit, only the citywide one.

Cars: you can also tag the door of a player's car, stopped with nobody at the wheel. The owner gets a text. It stays until a new paint job at LS Customs.

The Walls app on your phone shows the city's tags, who holds which district and what just moved.

The cops#

Tagging is vandalism. While you spray, a cop within 40 m or a passerby within 15 m who sees you can call it in: ★. Never more, and nothing extra if you already have stars.

Buffing and touching up aren't watched. Only throwing up a tag (on a wall, a car or over another one) draws the cops.

What the cops won't tell you#
