Illegal garages

Where#

Hayes garage, Strawberry, Sandy Shores scrapyard and Paleto Bay hangar. They're on the map.

The plan#

1. Steal a carA street car, parked or in traffic. Car, motorcycle or quad.
2. No copsNo stars. The mechanic doesn't want heat in his shop.
3. Stop in the bayBehind the wheel, alone: other players get out first.
4. The quoteThe mechanic hands you a work order: showroom price, his price, what you save. He also tells you if you're short on level or cash. Confirm in two clicks, before the quote runs out.
5. Roll outA few seconds of black screen and shop noise, then the car rolls out of the garage exit, repaired. Paint, body parts, rims, window tint and plate rolled at random. It's registered to you: keys, garage, insurance.

The price#

A share of the showroom price that depends on the category: 35% for a compact, 40% for a muscle car, 45% for a sports car, 50% for a supercar. Paid from the bank first, then cash.

At least $1,500, except for the very cheapest rides: the mechanic never asks more than 60% of the showroom price.

You still need the reputation level the dealership asks for that model. No free space needed: garages full, the car is registered without a space, just like a dealership purchase, and gets stored wherever there's room.

What he turns down#

• Player cars (even hacked with a device), mission cars, convoy cars, event cars: anything already on file.
• Dealership test drives and anything spawned by a script.
• Boats, planes, and anything the dealerships don't sell.
• Wanted customers.
