Fence Exchange
Server-wideThe fence doesn't always pay the same. Every item has a price that drops when everyone sells the same thing, and climbs back when nobody does. Sell at the right time, or let your pieces sit in his storage.
How it works#
Burglary loot and the jewels from the jewelry store sell to the burglary fence, his purple box on the map. He pays each piece its value times the item's price index, the same for the whole server.
- Every piece sold, by anyone, drops the price by 3%. Even within your own batch: the tenth TV pays less than the first.
- When nobody sells, it climbs back toward normal on its own: two thirds of the gap is gone in 45 min.
- An item that gets scarce goes above normal.
Never below 35% of the normal price, never above 160%. Your reputation bonus applies on the sale, except on Vangelico jewels, already counted when you grabbed them.
The listings#
| Item | Normal price |
|---|---|
| Old master painting | $2,350 |
| Vangelico jewels | $1,900 |
| Gold bar | $1,250 |
| Flat-screen TV | $700 |
| Luxury watch | $650 |
| Jewelry box | $575 |
| Laptop | $400 |
| Electric guitar | $325 |
| Game console | $250 |
| Microwave | $80 |
The normal price is a reference: your piece is worth more or less depending on the tier of the place it came from.
The Exchange app#
On your phone, anywhere: each item's price, its chart over 1 h, 24 h or 7 days, what sold in the last hour, and what your bag and storage are worth right now. You can set up to 5 price alerts: a message lands when the price crosses your mark, up or down.
Selling or storing item by item from the app only works next to the fence. His menu lets you sell the whole bag, store it, or sell all your storage.
The fence's storage#
- StoreAt the fence, your bag goes into his storage: 20 pieces max. What doesn't fit stays in your bag.
- WaitIn storage, nothing is lost if you die. Your bag, though, stays on your body.
- SellWhen you like the price. Storage fees, 1% of the piece's value per day, come off at the sale.
From the app, a sale takes pieces from storage first, then from your bag.
Vangelico jewels#
When you cash in the heist, the jewels turn into pieces of about $1,900, handed out in turn to the crewmates who share. They go straight into each one's storage. Storage full: the rest is sold on the spot, at the current price.
The collector#
Every now and then, a collector wants one item: he buys it at +25% for 45 min. The app announces it, so does the fence's menu, and you get a message if you have some in storage.
An item nobody has sold for turns scarce, but only . Its price then climbs up to . Quiet server, nothing moves.
An item that loses makes the app's headlines, and whoever holds some in storage gets warned.
The collector comes back every , and . In storage, .
Ten TVs at once is ten price drops. Keep some in storage and sell them once the market has forgotten.
